Affordable Housing an Issue for All

The Boom for Whom? Affordable Housing Rally on August 18 called for the government to instill rent controls and build more affordable housing.


Many of the people who took part in the march and rally are people who are also involved in the local peace movement. After all, if we want peace on a global scale, we have to work on making the world around us a better place as well.

About 200 people marched through the downtown area to the Alberta Legislature, where speakers, musicians, and artists expressed the need for affordable housing, and questioned the effects of the current economic boom in the province on the average person. Here is a look at what happened.
