Earth Day is a celebration of the environment. It also celebrates peace.
At Earth Day events throughout the world, protecting and preserving the Earth is the main focus. Peace is a major factor towards that end. Conflicts destroy wildlife, natural areas, and human lives. Peace is indeed good for the environment. It is no small surprise that many people in the peace making community are also involved in environmental issues.
