Music has always been a very big part of my life, and songwriting a major vocation. I was recently challenged to write some music with more political leanings.

Here are the results.

Marching in the Street

This song is about the need to speak up about the issues that surround us.

Butterflies and Rainbows

A song about the development of the tar sands in Alberta, and the effect it is having on the environment, poverty, homelessness, affordable housing, and war. I'm thinking back to a more innocent time in my life and contrasting it with the world today.

That's My Boy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xiz2jZOgsQ

A song that presents the human side of war, in the voice of a mother who loses her soldier son. I recorded this for a friend of mine who's son is going back for his second or third tour of Iraq.

I Only Ask of G-d/Solo le pido a Dios

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKr42GdLZ40

This is an English version of the song by León Gieco, a folk singer from Argentina. This is more than just a song. It is a hymn and a prayer.
